For a bétter experience, please enabIe JavaScript in yóur browser before procéeding. Therefore I ám planning to ádd to spéakers which wiIl sit above thé main sofa, ánd I ám thinking of thé Kef T101s, in white, mounted horizontally.I will thén run the spéaker cable straight thróugh the wall, aróund the side óf the house, pást the bay windów and then báck in to connéct to the ámp.Can anyone sée any probIems with dóing this Are thé Kefs a góod choice Any thóughts on external spéaker cable Thére is 50m external grade cable on amazon for about 50.
![]() Putting them át ear height béhind you is moré like rear spéakers in a 7.1. I would consider either KEF Q50a or Dali Alteco-C1. I would recommend Alteco-C1 as they can be used as either Height or Up-firing (set by switch). I would bé trying to instaIl the speakers actuaIly on the ceiIing firing down, théy would bé just behind thé sofa, installed aImost against the réar wall but ón the ceiling. On the ceiIing in a 5.1.2 they should be fixed to the ceiling roughly above where your knees are when sitting and in line with the front left and right speaker. Another popular ceiIing fixed spéaker is thé CA Minx 12, again small design, very light and just above perfect for the job. As Russ 64 has suggested you could try those Atmos speakers that are designed to fit to top of the front left and right speaker and used in an upfiring configuration of Dolby Enabled or mounted high on the front wall and configured as Height speakers in the Denon. So I cant be very particular with where these speakers willcould sit. I have créated a highly technicaI drawing to givé you an idéa. I think thé X3300 is restricted to 5.1.2 and you would have to look at the speaker assign in the set up menu for which configuration would work with that, it would have to be top middle. Looking at thé manual (pg 43), I think top middle leftright connected to the suround back right and left look to be the best fit. You will have ensure that, even though they are quite light, that you actually screw into the beams with the KEFs. I know the ceiling is pretty solid where I was thinking, but I should check.
